Analytical Chemist for LC-MS/MS (Metabolomics) (m/f)
Area of Responsibility:
- Development and Validation of MS/MS-based analytical assays and diagnostic kit products for biological samples.
- Quantitative analysis of biological samples and contractual research including project management work in these areas will also be required.
Essential functions:
- Independent planning, development, standardization, validation and documentation of HPLC as well as FIA-based Tandem Mass Spectrometry-based assaysincluding sample preparation for quantitation of endogenous metabolites from different biological matrices obtained from various disease and therapeutically-treated cohorts (metabolomics).
- Transfer of analytical methods to other MS/MS platforms and vendors.
- Transfer of sample preparation to our in-house automated robotic platform
- Development and validation of MS/MS-based diagnostic kit products
- Work in teams comprised of both internal and external collaborators to meet milestones in both collaborative projects and customer research contracts.

- Maintain high-quality written and electronic records.
- Implementation of QMS standards, protocols and general documentation with the goal of accreditation by appropriate authorities.
- Instrument operation and general laboratory maintenance
- Scientific Publication and Presentation (preferably in English).
Formal qualification:
- A minimum of 2 years related work experience
- PhD degree in analytical chemistry/biochemistry or equivalent with working experience on quantitative MS/MS analysis.
- Analytical problem and challenges solving skills, strong team orientation as well as leadership skills.
- Candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter, creative, result- and milestone-oriented and capable of communicating efficiently with colleagues from other disciplines (statisticians, biochemists, bioinformatics).
Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
- Good analytical chemistry, (bio)chemistry, chromatography and quantitative mass spectrometry skills.
- Knowledge in metabolomics, pharmaceutical or biotechnology research environment would be an advantage.
- High competency in data analysis.
- English presentations and communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of QMS and/or CE/IVD would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and/or interest of diagnostic product development
- Knowledge and appreciation of statistics in the design and analysis of experiments.
- Analytical expertise in GC-MS would be an advantage.
