BIOCRATES Life Sciences AG begins shipping kit to North America – Software updates ease workflow
27.05.2009 - BIOCRATES Life Sciences AG announced that it has begun shipping its AbsoluteIDQ™ Kit to North America. While the kit has been available in Europe since last April, its format was adapted for shipment to the rest of the world. “We have thoroughly tested the latest kit format and are pleased to offer a new version which is just as robust as the original, but can be shipped worldwide,” stated Sascha Dammeier, Director of Product Development & Production. In addition to updating the kit format, many new features were added to the MetIQ™ Software, which comes standard with the kit. The new software version simplifies the work flow and makes exporting data in different formats much easier.

BIOCRATES’ Metabolomics Expertise Provides New Insight into Functional Genomics
02.02.2009 - Researchers at the Helmholtz Zentrum München – German Research Center for Environmental Health recently used Biocrates’ metabolomics expertise in ground-breaking research linking the genetic make-up of an individual to differences in their metabolism. This was the first time that genomics and metabolomics data have been combined in a large, population-based study. The patients’ “metabotypes” were determined and new light was shed into the “black box” of functional genomics. The data combination techniques used in this study can be used in future studies to lower costs or increase statistical significance.
