Biocrates enables quantitative lipid analyses with an unprecedented level of sensitivity and precision

The crucial role of lipids in cell, tissue and organ physiology is demonstrated by many human diseases that involve the disruption of lipid metabolic enzymes and pathways. Examples of lipid-associated disorders include diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, cancer and infectious diseases.  Therefore targeted lipidomics will not only provide insights into the specific roles of lipid molecular species in health and disease, but will also assist in identifying potential biomarkers for establishing preventive or therapeutic approaches for human health.


Targeted lipidomics provides quantitative analyses of lipids on the systems-level scale together with their interacting factors. Using a LC–MS/MS approach Biocrates can provide the necessary sensitivity, structural specificity, and quantitative precision with high-throughput for > 300 lipids in small sample quantities.
